︎Flotsam

Mark
︎An entrance experience that subverts romantic notions of clear blue waters by transporting visitors to near future of an Ocean where the worlds plastic is currently collecting.

In maritime law, “flotsam” is debris that was not deliberately cast into the sea and therefore remains the responsibility of its owner.
Plastic bottles are a key material element in this surface. As a floating mass of objects, they inherit the topography and movement of the sea around as they convey a fluid form.

Through explorations in transparency and colour, Light and liquid are used to emphasise the experience of being under the dynamic topography of the ocean.
